Illness

I know it has been awhile but I have a sick little one at home. He just got over an ear infection on Monday of this week and as of yesterday afternoon he had a temperature of 100.5. He has never had a temperature even with his ear infection so his mommy was a little freaked out. I also found out yesterday that a child in his day care room has RSV, so as you can imagine I was doubly freaked. He was burning up all night even after Tylenol. This morning about 2 he begins to rustle a little so my husband so in to check on him and take his temperature. 102.2 As you can imagine I am in panic mode I take off his outfit and rush for the Tylenol. A Dr. at Partners in Pediatrics in Montgomery was woke up in the middle of the night by me. We manage to get him cooled down but the storm of activity (changing clothes, taking temp, taking Tylenol and calling of the Dr.)made him ready to play so when it was time to go back to bed, he was not having it. We were up til about 3:15 when he finally decided to go back to bed (with us). I praise God every day for my precious boy and can not imagine what I would do if something were to happen to him.

On a happier note, my son is going to be nine months on Sunday. We are taking him tomorrow to have pictures done at Portrait Innovation so more pics to follow. He is becoming mobile as so can see in the picture. Still not teeth but Mommy is hoping they will come in soon. It is hard to believe that he is that old. I love you so much Elijah Logan Harris.

World of Firsts

Elijah has started doing several new things recently and I thought I would share them. He has began to pull up some (which is a start). He is also really trying to crawl. He really isn't sure what to do with his hands but he is trying. His new words are hi, bye and kitty. He adores our cat (tries to pull his hair and hit him with a plastic cooking spoon as he walks by).

He is growing up so fast. He can now turn pages of books (baby books of course but that is a start). Before I know it, my little man will be 9 months old and will hopefully have some teeth (none yet and he is 8 1/2 months). I can't wait to see what the rest of his first year of life has in store for us.

I love you my son.

Starting of a New Year

As school started back on Monday I contemplated a few things. The first is how much I would really love to stay at home with our eight month old son. After being home with him for almost three weeks I really did not want to want to go back. He is ONE of the loves of my life (My husband is the other of course). I hate having to get dressed and leave him every morning. I miss getting to play with him like I did when I was out for the holidays. I really don't get to do a lot of playing after work because when we get home we have about an hour before we have to give him his bath, dinner and bed. Most of the time he is in bed by 7:30. Another contemplation of mine was that I really don't know what I would do without my husband. He takes such good care of our son. He is the one that gives him his bottle in the morning while I get ready for work. Then I will get him dressed and ready for daycare. When he gets home he will play with him while I am getting supper cooked and getting Elijah's food and bottles ready for daycare the next day. I have the best husband and I love him with everything that I have.

We have also been contemplating whether or not to have another child. Neither of us are only children. The people that I have talked to that are only children say that it is a very lonely like. I am a twin so I could not imagine not having someone around to play with. The having another is complicated. I developed preeclampsia with Elijah that is why he had to be delivered early and had to stay in the NICU for 12 days. I don't know if we want to risk my life or the life of our unborn child because I would more than likely develop it again. We are still praying about it. I know we could adopt but I would rather have another child on our own.

As 2009 continues I am sure that it will bring some interesting things.
