I can't believe it. My son is 1 year old. You have been through a lot this year. You start out a preemie and now you are big boy. You have had colds, ear infections and croup and survived it all. You have had your first knot on your head and survived that too. You are such a big boy and this past weekend we celebrated your birthday. Happy birthday Elijah. Mommy and daddy love you.
This has dual meaning. This week was spring break for Prattville High where I teach. I can't believe how quickly it flew by. I have loved being home with my little boy and am really dreading coming back to work on Monday. I have had so much fun. We stayed in our little routine which he loves. Mommy is really going to miss him on Monday when he goes back to daycare.
Also, this weekend marked the one year birthday of my friend Susannah's son Anderson. This was Elijah's first birthday party to be invited to. He had so much fun. His mommy even let him eat birthday cake (not too much icing though). I made the cakes for his birthday party, which I think turned out pretty good. What do you think.
Easter has come and gone. It is a time of reflection on what our Lord and Savior has done for us and how often we fall short of deserving his love and saving grace. Also during this time period I have been reflecting on the last 11 months of my son's life. This was his first Easter. Look how cute he is.

My son brings so much joy to my life. It is so hard for me to think that his first birthday is in 3 weeks.
